WHAT'S YOUR POROSITY

Understanding your hair porosity is essential for choosing the right products and hair care routines that suit your hair's unique needs. Hair porosity refers to how well your hair can absorb and retain moisture, which affects its ability to stay hydrated, hold styles, and respond to treatments. By identifying whether your hair is low, medium, or high porosity, you can tailor your approach to nourishment and styling, ensuring healthier, more manageable hair every day.

Discover Your Hair Porosity

Take The Water Test

  1. Fill a glass with water: Get a clear glass and fill it with room-temperature water.

  2. Strand test: Take a clean strand of your hair (preferably one that's shed naturally) and place it in the glass of water.

  3. Observe:

    • Low Porosity: If your hair floats at the top and doesn’t sink, it means your hair has low porosity. It resists moisture and takes longer to absorb it.

    • Normal Porosity: If your hair floats in the middle of the water, it indicates normal porosity. Your hair absorbs and retains moisture well, without too much effort.

    • High Porosity: If your hair quickly sinks to the bottom, it means your hair has high porosity. It absorbs moisture rapidly but also loses it just as fast, making it prone to dryness.

By knowing your porosity, you can choose products and routines that are best suited for your hair type, helping it stay healthier, hydrated, and looking its best.
